Laybrook Landfill

Cory Environmental issued a statement on the 3rd of March 2010 announcing that it will withdraw its application to dump 4.1 million tonnes of rubbish at Laybrook over the next 21 years, saying that it recognised that management of waste is possible by other means.

However Laybrook is still on West Sussex County Council's Waste Development Framework list. And Cory Environmental also declared that "West Sussex will remain a vital area for us to consider opportunities for new waste management infrastructure." and that it "has decided to redirect its resources into considering the best strategic use of the Laybrook site".

Your views made a difference. Cory Environmental hasn't given up on Laybrook yet and TVA remains vigilant.
